YVONNE BADU, APRN, FNP-C

Yvonne is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over 15 years of healthcare experience and a deep passion for caring for children and supporting their families. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Community Health with a focus on health education and health promotion, followed by a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and a Master’s degree in Nursing from Bradley University, with a focus on primary care, pediatrics, and maternal health. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Yvonne worked as a pediatric nurse on an inpatient unit in a large hospital system in the Chicagoland area, caring for children from newborns through age 21. This experience fostered her enduring love for pediatrics and shaped her commitment to compassionate, family

centered care.

Yvonne is passionate about empowering children and families through education, prevention, and meaningful partnerships. Her mission is to bridge the gap between health education and actionable steps toward a healthier lifestyle, helping families turn knowledge into practical and sustainable habits. She embraces a holistic approach to primary care, recognizing that a child’s well-being is influenced by interconnected physical, emotional, developmental, nutritional, and lifestyle factors. She strives to provide individualized care while equipping families with the knowledge and confidence to participate in their child’s health actively. For Yvonne, caring for children and helping them build a strong foundation for lifelong wellness is both a privilege and a true passion.

Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Yvonne is a proud first-generation American with family roots in Ghana, West Africa. Her heritage and upbringing have instilled in her a deep appreciation for family, community, education, and service. She relocated to North Texas in 2024 and is grateful to call the area home. Outside of healthcare, Yvonne enjoys cooking, traveling, and experiencing different cultures with her husband, as well as spending time with her twin sister, who is also a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. She is also passionate about empowering youth through financial literacy and co-founded the Badu Foundation, Inc. with her husband to provide financial education to children ages 6 to 18. Yvonne looks forward to building meaningful relationships with the families she serves and creating a welcoming environment where every child and family feels heard, valued, and supported.
